[Rets-dev] Real time RETS

Hi All, 
 
Been using librets for a few months calling it from vb.net - very impressed
with it.
 
Has anyone here ever developed any real time RETS clients? I am just
wondering if the RETS spec is up to the task for real time requests.
 
I suppose it is a function of the hw/bandwidth speed on specific RETS
servers - the round trip performance I am seeing is about 10-12 seconds
minimum to login, query the server and receive a response.
 
At the moment my client is favoring a store and retrieve system because of
these performance issues.
 
Any thoughts?
